Dear Backers,
Autumn is underway and so are the Bully Buddy 1 Kickstarter orders. Last week we shipped over 450 packages to our early supporters with dogs in the 10 - 25 lb range. The response has been wonderful, and we are so excited that your furbabies are enjoying their bully sticks safely!
A couple reminders as the rest of the packages get delivered:
1. Please remember that the Bully Buddy 1 is meant for dogs 10 - 25 lbs
If you live in a house with multiple pup siblings, please be sure to keep a watchful eye on the larger dogs to make sure they do not get jealous and try to take their smaller sibling’s new Bully Buddy. While we know it can be difficult for the larger guys to have to wait for a Bully Buddy that is appropriate for their size, we want to make sure that each dog is snacking safely! See here a larger dog that got a hold of his smaller brother’s toy! He may seem very pleased with himself but we cannot guarantee his safety while using the product since he is outside the weight limit for the Bully Buddy 1.
2. Don’t forget, we have launched our Easyship Program for Bully Sticks
If you ordered a package that came with a small number of bully sticks, you might need more sticks that will fit the Bully Buddy! Well, we’ve got you covered! You can order a pack of 10 or 20 to be delivered straight to your door each month via our Easyship Program! Bully Buddy 1 Shipment Update

Dear Backers,
Thank you for being so patient as we package up the Bully Buddy 1 Kickstarter orders! Our shipment goal for the Bully Buddy 1 was October 2018, so we wanted to let you know that despite a small delay at the end of last week, we have started to ship the Bully Buddy 1 orders!
For those of you that are expecting the Bully Buddy 1, you will be receiving a separate email from us confirming your package has shipped and what you can expect to find inside.
Additionally, we are excited to announce that Bow Wow Labs full e-commerce website is officially up and running! Now can you now order Bully Buddy 1’s and pre-order other sized Bully Buddies in the family directly through our website!

You will notice on the website that we have been making some innovations to the design of the Bully Buddy and have expanded the Bully Buddy Family to make sure each size Bully Buddy is the right size for your pup. The updated sizes in the Bully Buddy family are:
Bitty Buddy: For Dogs Under 10 lbs*
Bully Buddy 1: For Dogs 10- 25 lbs**
Bully Buddy 2: For Dogs 25 - 40 lbs*
Bully Buddy 3: For Dogs 40 - 55 lbs*
Bully Buddy 4: For Dogs 55 - 70 lbs*
Bully Buddy 5: For Dogs 70 - 85 lbs***

Shipping Update + Shelter Pet Awareness Month!

Hi Backers,
Good news! We have a shipping update for you!
Over the past couple of days we have been working hard to sort through the first shipment of Bully Sticks ordered for the Bully Buddy 1 Kickstarter rewards and post-campaign pre-orders! We combed through thousands of Bully Sticks, sizing each one and hand-picking the sticks that were just the right size to fit securely in the Bully Buddy 1!
Additionally, all the Bully Buddy 1 product just arrived! We have a few last-minutes tasks to complete, and then hundreds of Bully Buddy 1 Packages will be ready to be packed and shipped out within the next two weeks. Once your package has shipped, you will receive a confirmation email from us, so be on the lookout!
As a reminder, these shipments are for those customers that indicated in the backer survey that their dogs were in the 10 to 25 pound range with normal chew strength, making the Bully Buddy 1 the right size for them.
For backers with bigger dogs and aggressive chewers, you will receive a Bully Buddy designed specifically for your bigger pups! Remember, we are using a portion of the money raised during the Kickstarter to design, test, and manufacture the bigger Bully Buddies, and the design and test phase is currently in process. We hope to ship those before the end of the year, and as always we will keep you updated on the progress!
Finally, if you haven’t yet, make sure you’ve filled out your backer survey so that we can ensure your order is the queue. Only orders with surveys that are shown as complete will have a package shipped.

Hello Backers!
As our community of dog lovers, friends and supporters continues to grow we want to connect you all with each other just as much as we connect with each and every one of you. We love hearing from you guys, whether it’s a suggestion for a new product, a customer service question or an anecdotal story about your pup, we are all dog-ears.
Over the course of our Kickstarter campaign and in the months that have followed, we have heard countless stories from pet parents that have had similar experiences to our Bully Buddy Inventor Scott’s experience with his dog Finn choking on his Bully Stick.

Behind The Scenes: Bully Buddy Production

Dear Backers,
You all have been so patient since the end of our Kickstarter campaign as we have ramped up production and fulfillment for your orders. In an effort to keep you as up to date as possible we thought it might be of interest to share the process for the design, prototyping, testing and manufacturing of a new product to know a bit more about what is involved in bringing a product like the Bully Buddy to life.
Through this process we are on track to start shipping Bully Buddy 1 packages by the end of October. Storage Jars and Treat bags are in our warehouse and the bully sticks are scheduled to arrive this week! Once they arrive, we will start hand sorting each and every one in order to match them with the correct size Bully Buddy.
The process for Bully Buddy 2, 3 and the Bitty Buddy are in motion thanks to the support of our Kickstarter backers. We are at Step Four for these versions and hope to have our first shipment of those rewards as soon as possible but can’t commit to a hard date yet. As you can see below it is a very complicated process and we want to get it right. All of our dogs safety and health is dependent on it!
BWL’s seven step process for producing the Bully Buddy:
Step One: Define all of the features of the Bully Buddy and what they are intended to accomplish.
Step Two: Create a series of designs and filter through them looking for reasons why certain ideas won’t work as intended.
**BWL Fun Fact: In the case of the Bully Buddy 1, there have been over 100 versions until we settled on the current iteration that you ordered through our campaign.
Step Three: Prototyping which means creating a CAD design and then 3D printed a sample of the product.
Step Four: Work with the 3D printed version to determine what needs to be tweaked and in some cases, determine if the overall design will do all that we want it to do.
**BWL Fun Fact: If it is determined that the overall design is not solving for all asks, go back to Step One and start over. We did that three times for Bully Buddy 1!
Step Five: Create a manufactured prototype and go through the same process as Step Four. This is more expensive than the 3D printing step because you are manufacturing a fully functioning product rather than a printed model.
Step Six: Create the machine that makes the Bully Buddy. We call this machine a “tool.”
Step Seven: Have the tool create a small run of Bully Buddies for testing purposes and to tweak the small details of the tooling and manufacturing process. Once perfected, manufacturing can begin.
For reference see below the images of the tool that has been created and used for the manufacturing of the Bully Buddy 1. To give you some sense of scale, this “tool” below weighs 1,200 pounds and is made of steel! So even though the Bully Buddy looks like a simple little device, it is actually quite sophisticated with a complicated process to create and manufacture it.
