Dear Backers, we’re nearing the end of our campaign in 5 days and there’s so much more to come. So stay tuned, it’s not over yet!
Please continue to help us get to our first stretch goal of $50,000 to develop the Bully Buddy 3 for dogs 70 to 120 lbs. and the Bitty Buddy for dogs under 10 lbs.
Thanks so much for coming along with us on this adventure. Your pups will soon be able to enjoy their favorite treat more safely!
To mark this final stretch, let’s take a quick look back at how we got here TOGETHER:
Mid 2013: Scott’s dog, Finn, has a choking incident with a bully stick. Luckily Finn regurgitates the bully stick an hour and a half later without any major injury. During the time between swallowing and throwing it up, Scott frantically researches what to do online. That’s when he notices the message boards are full of people, with all kinds of dogs, who have experienced the same problem and realizes there is no good solution.
Late 2013: Scott decides to create a solution himself, comes up with the original concept and reaches out to multiple design firms, before settling on one, to help bring his vision to life.
Early 2014: Scott holds the first 3D printed prototype for the Bully Buddy in hand.
Mid 2014: Scott puts the concept on the shelf to deal with some personal matters.
Two years pass …
Late 2016 - Scott begins talks with Michael London–a successful, lifelong entrepreneur–about the concept and what needs to happen to bring the Bully Buddy to market.
Mid 2017: Michael and Linda London assemble an entrepreneurial team of dog lovers and Bow Wow Labs is formed to take Scott’s initial concept to market. During the next year, the team solves many design challenges; develops the brand identity, the company’s mission, and overall goals; and creates a game plan.
Early 2018: All the pieces of the puzzle are in place and the decision is made to launch the Bully Buddy into the market with a Kickstarter campaign.
June 19, 2018: The Kickstarter campaign launches with a goal of 1,000 backers and $25,000 in funding.
July 2, 2018: The Kickstarter campaign achieves 100% if of its initial funding goal with 388 Backers and the team establishes stretch goals to develop Bully Buddy 2 for dogs 25-70 lbs., and Bully Buddy 3 for dogs 70-120 lbs.
July 6, 2018: The campaign reaches 500 Backers, making it one of the top performing pet-product Kickstarter campaigns in history! The team expands its stretch goals to include the Bitty Buddy for dogs under 10 lbs.
July 12, 2018: The campaign reaches 800 backers and 166% of the funding goal and the final chance for supporters to back us is arriving quickly.
July 19, 2018: Our Kickstarter Campaign will end and our Pre-Order Store Opens. You can continue to come here to our Kickstarter project page for updates on our progress and links to the Pre-Order store. Backers can expect to receive a survey from the Bow Wow Labs team to gather information about your dog to ensure the correct sized Bully Buddy is shipped to you.

Hi Backers -
We’re thrilled that our campaign is approaching new stretch goals every day and can’t wait to bring Bully Buddy sizes for every dog to market soon!
At Bow Wow Labs we’re focused on a few very simple concepts: keeping dogs happier and safer, and making dog parents feel more empowered and confident in their pet ownership role.
Are bully sticks a treat or a meal replacement? Great question! The quick answer is: BOTH! Yes, bully sticks are treats, but depending upon the treat’s size in relationship to the size of your dog, they could be adding meal-worthy calories to your dog’s diet.
Bully stick treats range from 9 to 22 calories per inch. That means that the average 6-inch bully stick packs in about 88 calories. So, for a 50-pound dog, the 88 calories amounts to 9 percent of its daily diet which isn’t too significant. But, a 10-pound dog would get a whopping 30 percent of its daily calorie requirements from one bully stick.
That doesn’t mean bully sticks aren’t still a great way to keep your dog happy and healthy - just keep these calorie stats in mind so you can adapt his or her diet for the rest of that day if necessary. And, of course, use your Bully Buddy to help prevent choking on the tail end of that bully stick!

STRETCH GOALS

Unlocking this reward will allow us to prototype and design the Bully Buddy 3 for dogs 75 - 125 lbs. This will help us bring the Bully Buddy to dogs of all breeds and sizes and especially the most aggressive chewers who can really chew those bully sticks to pieces.
#2 - The "Bitty" Buddy (Unlocked after raising $75,000)
This amount of funding will help us develop the "bitty" or "mini" Bully Buddy for your scrappy pups under 10 lbs. (Note: you can still grab the naming rights to the "Bitty" Buddy. See our “Name the Bully Buddy” reward).
#3 - The Family Package (Unlocked after raising $100,000)
Meeting this goal will allow us to supply a whole family of Bully Buddies to you, including a "puppy package" consisting of several sizes of Bully Buddies and bully sticks to accommodate your puppy as he or she grows.
